What you’ll do as a Senior Backend Software Engineer at CloudCart:

• Collaborating with other designers and engineers
• Creating beautiful and fast code that improves our codebase in meaningful ways
• Using test-driven development to write well-tested code
• Fixing bugs fast and taking your time to solve hard problems well

You will be responsible for developing, coding, and modifying web-based applications, from layout to function, and per specifications. In addition, you will be developing new and maintaining existing internal tools, frameworks, and other novel technical innovations.

Your work will immediately impact our application stack, driving the customer experience from the first impression through the sales transaction. Ideally, you will be self-motivated and self-guided with the ability to estimate work, hit deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with constant changes.

A typical daily task-flow includes the following:

• Planning and delivering software used across multiple product sets
• Applying compliance and security principles to eCommerce applications
• Collaboratively developing an internal tool with our team of developers
• Communicating with business stakeholders and executive management with the authority and scope to apply your expertise to many interesting technical problems

Required Developer Skills and Qualifications:

• Expert level understanding of PHP 7.x+
• Excellent skills in relational databases (MySQL)
• Excellent skills in NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
• Excellent skills with HTML5 standards
• Proficient with Docker containers
• Proficient in Laravel 7+
• Excellent knowledge of security best practices
• Proficient in Building RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in Integrating third-party APIs
• Excellent skills in functional and object-oriented design paradigms
• Proficient in bundlers, such as Webpack, Composer, and/or performance optimizations

Additional bonus skills:

Solid working experience with Javascript, particularly integrating with APIs (Vue.js or React would be a plus).
